Managing Director of School of Culinary Arts, Inducted into Les Dames d’Escoffier International
CHICAGO, July 12, 2010 – Renee Zonka, RD, CEC, CHE, managing director and associate dean of the School of Culinary Arts at Kendall College, has been inducted into the Chicago chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International (LDEI), an organization of woman leaders in the food, beverage and hospitality industry.

Dames in DC for Chefs Move to Schools
June 4, 2010 was a momentous day for LDEI, Green Tables and childhood nutrition. Forty plus Dames * from 15 chapters joined chefs from 37 states on the South Lawn of the White House for the launch of "Chefs Move to Schools", the new initiative of the First Lady's "Let's Move!" campaign to end childhood obesity.

LDEI Legacy Awards Offer Professional Wisdom to Women in Food, Wine and Hospitality
The first Les Dames d’Escoffier International Legacy Awards will be announced on June 15, 2009. Awards In three categories serve as internships in providing women at the beginning or mid-career in their chosen culinary professions the opportunity to learn, first-hand, from accomplished Dames.
The awards offer a week-long, high energy work place experience to non-Dame women in the USA and Canada. Candidates must have at least two years of experience and must be currently working in the food, beverage or hospitality industries.
