M.F.K. Fisher Awards for Excellence in Culinary Writing
History

The M.F.K. Fisher Awards for Excellence in Culinary Writing, are presented annually by Les Dames d'Escoffier International (LDEI). They honor Mary Frances Kennedy Fisher, a widely read and lauded culinary writer. In 1992, M.F.K. Fisher gave LDEI permission to present awards in her name.

From 1992 to 2004, the awards recognized and supported a woman in her mid-career whose work directly impacted the areas of food, fine beverage and arts of the table.

In 2006, the M.F.K. Fisher Awards program was completely redesigned. The awards now recognize excellence in culinary writing. Women who live in the United States, Canada or Great Britain (England, Scotland, Wales or Norther Ireland) are eligible to be nominated for the award.
